After falling behind 2-0, Emily Wade assisted on one goal and scored another with 10 minutes left to lead the St. Lawrence University women's soccer team to a 2-2 tie with Union College in a Liberty league game Friday afternoon on Sandy MacAllaster Field in Canton.

Union (6-3-3 Overall, 2-0-2 Liberty League) scored a pair of goals in a span of less than a minute 17 minutes into the game to take an early lead. The first goal came on a long through pass down the center of the field and a shot from the top of the box and the second was off a corner kick.

Just 13 minutes later, St. Lawrence (7-3-3, 2-2-1) was awarded a free kick just inches outside the Union 18-yard box and Wade touched a short pass to Lindsay Geier who fired a shot into the top corner of the goal to trim the lead to 2-1.

The score remained 2-1 until late in the game when Wade struck again. This time the first-year forward took a loose ball and raced down the right side of the field past one defender before firing a shot from 25 yards out that sailed over the goalie's head and into the back of the goal to knot the score at 2-2.

"It was a hard played game today," said head coach Franco Bari. "While it took us some time to build our momentum I was really pleased with how we came back from a two-goal deficit. This truly showed that we have a lot of fight. I'm proud if the team for that."

Both teams had scoring chances in overtime with Union having one of the best chances early in the second 10-minute overtime session. Sydney Keane took a low shot from 10 yards out and Saints goalie Samantha Allen made a diving stop to keep the score tied.

Allen finished with six saves as Union took 20 shots with nine on goal. Union's Kelsey Hartsoe made three saves as St. Lawrence held a 5-2 shots advantage in the overtime periods.

The Saints will face Rensselaer at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon to complete the Liberty league weekend of action.
