Vassar's Tessa Waters netted her 32nd goal of the season to lift the Brewers to an 11-10 overtime win defeating the St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team in a Liberty League contest Saturday afternoon in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Sydney Nemphos forced Kiera Taussig to turn over the ball and fed Waters the ball. Water's then tipped a shot past Saints goaltender Olga Lukas, securing the win for the Brewers.

The Saints were led by seniors Taussig and Kara Hurley who each scored a hat trick in the final regular season game. Norris added two goals, while Kayla Schmalz and Emma Owens scored one goal each. Norris led the team with three ground balls and Tori Smith led the Saints' defense with four caused turnovers. With Taussig's three goals she hit a career milestone by scoring 100 goals during her four-year career with the Saints.

Ashley Norris opened up scoring for the Saints, but the Brewers responded with three quick goals to take a 3-1 lead under six minutes to play in the first half. St. Lawrence rallied scoring five goals to take their first lead of the game (6-3). Vassar capitalized on a run of their own, beginning with a man-up goal from Fiona MacLeod, and capped by Storm Sideleau, who tied the game 6-6 at the beginning of the second half. Both teams then traded four goals each to tie, including one man-down goal from Vassar, to tie the game 10-10 with 8:36 left to play before overtime.

"Despite the loss, I couldn't be prouder of how the girls played today," said head coach Ashley Pike. "Now it's time to focus our attention on the tournament next Friday."

The Brewers were led by Waters with four goals, while Sideleau scored two goals. Kelly Pushie tallied one goal and two assists for Vassar. Emily Chancey made 12 saves in goal for the Brewers and Cricket Wemyss and Lukas combined for eight saves for the Saints.

St. Lawrence wrapped up their regular season 8-8 overall and 5-4 in Liberty League play. Vassar ended their season 8-7 and 5-4.

The third-seeded Saints will travel to William Smith on Friday to take on Skidmore in the conference semifinals at 5:00 p.m.
