The St. Lawrence University women's lacrosse team lost its final game in West Palm Beach, FL, as SUNY Fredonia jumped out to an 8-2 first half lead en route to a 12-7 victory over the Saints. Kiera Taussig and Chloe Knapp had two goals each for St. Lawrence, while Fredonia State was led by Marissa Cussins and Katie Glagolev who each had four tallies.

The Blue Devils (2-2) outshot the Saints (1-3) by a 21-17 margin, including a 13-5 edge in the decisive first half. St. Lawrence committed 12 turnovers in the opening half, and though they outscored Fredonia in the second half, Jessica Zagari made seven saves to ensure the win. Addie Cunningham also made 12 saves for the Scarlet and Brown.

Michaela Maybee got St. Lawrence on the board 8:02 into the first half, pulling her team within a goal at 2-1. Emily Polizzi scored back-to-back goals for the Blue Devils, and though Knapp cut the deficit to 4-2 with 10:26 to go, Fredonia scored four straight goals to end the half and build an 8-2 lead. Cussins made it 5-2 before two goals from Glagolev and a tally from Katie Kleine.

Hayden Stein scored in the opening minute of the second half, but the Scarlet and Brown was unable to sustain any momentum, as Fredonia rebounded with two goals to stretch the advantage to 10-3. The Saints would cut the gap to five twice, outscoring Fredonia 5-4 in the second half, but would get no closer as the Blue Devils secured the 12-7 win.

Emma Garfield added a goal for St. Lawrence, which is slated to be in action again on Thursday, March 20 in Potsdam, NY against SUNY Potsdam. The game is scheduled for 4:00pm.
