The Saints successfully avenged a 5-1 defeat at the hands of Dartmouth in Rochester last weekend, downing No. 10 Big Green 2-1 in front of their home crowd in Appleton Arena to improve to 5-5-1 overall and 2-2-0 in the ECAC. The loss is the first of the season for the visitors, as they fall to 4-1-0 and 2-1-0 against conference opponents.

"It was nice to get those two points," Head Coach Chris Wells said. "It was an evenly played game throughout."

Boulier got the Saints on the board with a power-play goal 8:52 into the opening frame after her shot from just inside the blue line hit a Dartmouth defender at the side of the net and ricocheted behind netminder Robyn Chemago for her third of the season. Brooke Webster and Kennedy Marchment picked up assists after cycling down low to get the puck back up top to the Saints captain.

Kennedy Marchment increased the Saints lead to 2-0 with 4:40 to play in the second period when she buried the rebound from a Jacqueline Wand shot at the top of crease. Wand's shot from the bottom of the left faceoff dot was initially saved by Chemago, but she kicked the rebound straight out in front and onto the stick of Marchment for her fifth of the year.

With 9:40 remaining in the third period St. Lawrence netminder Carmen MacDonald made a fantastic save on a breakway attempt by the Big Green's Samantha Zeiss hold the lead at 2-0 in favor of the Scarlet and Brown, but late in the third period a turnover proved costly for the Saints, as Dartmouth was able to spoil MacDonald's shutout bid.

It was Laura Stacey that capitalized on the Saints turnover deep in their own zone. Stacey moved in alone on MacDonald, drew her to down to the ice along the right post and then lifted the puck over her shoulder to make it 2-1 with just over a minute remaining.

Dartmouth called a late timeout in an attempt to rally the offense and pulled Chemago for an extra attacker, but the Saints were able to clear the puck into the Dartmouth zone and hold it along the boards to seal the win.

MacDonald finished with 27 saves, including 11 in the final period, while her counterpart, Chemago made 23 stops for the Big Green.

"Dartmouth had some great chances in the third created by their hard work," Wells added. "We were happy with our efforts as well on our end. This was a great game for us to continue to grow and take on our personality."

The Saints return to Appleton Arena for a 4 p.m. faceoff against No. 4 Harvard on Saturday afternoon.
