The St. Lawrence women's hockey team battled the No. 4 Quinnipiac Bobcats to a 2-2 tie on Saturday afternoon in Hamden, Conn. behind goals by Brooke Webster and Jenna Marks and a 24-save performance by senior netminder Carmen MacDonald.

"A big shocker that one of our games with them goes to OT," Head Coach Chris Wells said. "We gave everything we had tonight versus a team that comes at you in waves. They have played with consistency all year."

The Bobcats got on the board first midway through the first period on an unassisted tally by Emma Woods and led 1-0 heading into the first intermission.

Sophomore Brooke Webster evened the score with her team-leading ninth of the season and third of the weekend just 38 seconds into the middle frame when she picked up the rebound from a shot by senior Jacqueline Wand and fired a shot from the hashmarks into a wide open net behind Quinnipiac goaltender Chelsea Laden. Kennedy Marchment also assisted on the play.

Later in the period, Jenna Marks put the Saints out in front when she buried the rebound off a chance by Kailee Heidersbach in close, with Kayla Raniwsky also assisting.

St. Lawrence would hold on to it's 2-1 lead until the 10:41 mark of the third period, when Nicole Connery beat MacDonald to pull the Bobcats even.

"Both teams had chances but both goalies were able to makes some key stops to keep the game tied," Wells added. "It was a nice, playoff-type game, and that is always great to be a part of."

With the tie, the Saints head into Thanksgiving break at 7-5-2 overall and 4-2-1 against ECAC opponents. The tie is the first blemish on the Bobcats conference record this season, as they sit at 10-0-2 and 5-0-1 after the weekend. Laden finished with 17 saves for Quinnipiac.

The Saints have next weekend off before returning to Appleton Arena to finish out their first semester schedule with league matchups against Cornell and Colgate on Dec. 6 and 7.
