Kennedy Marchment and Brooke Webster have been named top-10 finalists for the Patty Kazmaier Award, as announced by the USA Hockey Foundation. The Patty Kazmaier Award is bestowed annually to the top player in NCAA Division I women's ice hockey.

The selection process for the Patty Kazmaier Award begins when head coaches nominate players for the award. Players receiving multiple nominations are placed on the official ballot, at which point head coaches vote for the top-10 finalists.

Three finalists will be selected by a 13-person committee made up of NCAA Division I women's hockey coaches, representatives of print and broadcast media, an at-large member and a representative of USA Hockey. The top-three finalists will be announced on Thursday, March 2, and the award will be presented at Foundry Arts Centre in St. Charles, Missouri, on Saturday, March 18, as part of the NCAA Women's Frozen Four weekend hosted by Lindenwood University.

St. Lawrence, Wisconsin and Minnesota are the only three teams to have two players selected in the top-10.

Marchment and Webster are the fifth and sixth players in St. Lawrence women's hockey history to be named top-10 finalists for the Patty Kazmaier Award. Britni Smith '10 was the most recent finalist in 2010. Sabrina Harbec '08 was a finalist in 2006, 2007 and 2008, Jessica Moffat '06 was a finalist in 2006, and Rebecca Russell '05 was a finalist in 2005.

Marchment ranks second nationally with 1.62 points per game (18 goals, 34 assists, 52 points), while Webster is ranked third with 1.59 (20-31-51).

The Saints earned the No. 2 seed in the ECAC Hockey tournament and will host No. 7 Yale this weekend in a best-of-three quarterfinal series. Friday's game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. opening faceoff, while Saturday's game will start at 3 p.m. If a third game is necessary, it will be played on Sunday at 3 p.m. Admission to all three games is free, thanks to a partnership with North Country Savings Bank.
