For the second night in a row sophomore Brooke Webster and senior Kailee Heidersbach netted goals for the St. Lawrence women's hockey team, as the Saints edged Union 2-1 in Schenectady to improve to 6-6-1 overall and 3-1-0 in ECAC Hockey contests, while the Dutchwomen are 0-7-4 and 0-2-2 in the league.

"A real great weekend for our team," Head Coach Chris Wells said. "To get six out of eight points the last two weekends is a great start to the season. It certainly looks like it is going to be as crazy as it's ever been in the ECAC too."

Webster got the Saints on the board first midway through the first period with her second of the season when she put in the rebound from a shot by Kennedy Marchment, with Jenna Marks also assisting on the play.

With just over two minute remaining in the opening frame, Union's Jamie Smith beat sophomore netminder Brooke Wolejko to tie the game at 1-1 with a one-timer from the slot off a feed from Jessica Kaminsky.

But early in the second period, Heidersbach collected the rebound from a shot from Kirsten Padalis on a St. Lawrence power play for her third goal of the season and second game winner to help the Saints to the win.

The Saints we dominant offensively, registering a total of 56 shots to the Dutchwomen's 15 on the afternoon. Union netminder Melissa Black finished with 54 saves and did all she could to keep Union in the game.

"We had plenty of good chances today. Brooke did a fabulous job in keeping the pick out of the net. Our group was resilient in their effort today!"

Wolejko made 14 stops en route to her second win of the season for the Saints.
