Hannah Miller scored her 14th goal of the season, and Grace Harrison made 22 saves, but the third-ranked St. Lawrence University women's hockey team had to settle for a 1-1 tie with ninth-ranked Quinnipiac in an ECAC Hockey contest on Saturday night at Appleton Arena.

The single point was enough, however, to clinch home ice in the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals with three games remaining in the regular season, as the Saints moved to 23-3-3 overall, 15-2-2 in ECAC Hockey contests. St. Lawrence now trails Clarkson by two points for first place and holds a two-point lead over Cornell for second place with one game in hand.

Miller scored less than five minutes into the game, taking a pass from Brooke Webster in the left corner and skating into the slot before beating Quinnipiac goaltender Syndey Rossman with a low backhand to give the Saints an early lead.

Quinnipiac captain Emma Woods tied the game with a power play goal at the 7:21 mark of the second period. Taylar Cianfarano got the play started for the Bobcats, bringing the puck up the right side of the ice and sliding it into the slot. Randi Marcon picked up the puck and put two shots on Harrison before Woods was finally able to beat the sophomore goaltender from Auckland, New Zealand.

The game was tight throughout, and both teams had several chances to win in the late stages of regulation and in overtime.

St. Lawrence had a slim 25-23 edge in shots on goal, including a 5-2 advantage in the overtime period.

Rossman made 24 saves for the Bobcats, who moved to 18-7-6, 11-5-3.

The Saints will face 10th-ranked Princeton on Sunday at 3 p.m.
