The St. Lawrence University women's hockey team continued to roll on Saturday, beating Union College 4-0 at Appleton Arena as eight different players registered at least one point in the Saints' eighth straight win.

The Saints, now 11-0-1, are off to their best start in program history. The Scarlet and Brown have also set a program record for the start of conference play with a perfect 6-0-0 record to sit in a tie with Clarkson atop the conference standings. St. Lawrence's previous best records at this point in the season were a 10-0-2 in 2005-06 and 5-1-0 in 2012.

"That was a nice way to end the weekend," said head coach Chris Wells '92. "We had all of our lines contribute tonight and both goalies played well to get the shutout."

Kalie Grant gave the Saints a 1-0 lead after picking up a loose puck at the Union blue line, beating a defender and shooting high on the glove side for her second goal of the season.

The Saints' top forward line of Brooke Webster, Hannah Miller and Kennedy Marchment combined for the Saints' second goal just over a minute later, with Miller finding Marchment open at the left side of the net. Marchment centered the puck to Webster, who sent in a low shot for her ninth goal of the season to give the Saints a 2-0 lead.

Kirsten Padalis gave the Saints a 3-0 lead with a power play goal early in the second period. Marchment started the play with a pass to Webster right in the slot, and Webster's bid for her second goal of the game was saved by Union goaltender Kate Spooner, but the rebound drifted out to the top of slot, and Padalis glided in from the blue line and wristed a high shot over a Union defender top shelf for her second goal of the season.

Justine Reyes put the game away with her fifth goal of the year late in the third period, scoring on a rebound off a shot by Kayla Nielsen, with Kayla Vespa also getting an assist on the play.

Brooke Wolejko got the win in net for the Saints, stopping five shots in the first 31 minutes, 44 seconds. Sonjia Shelly made eight saves in the second half of the game, including a great stop on a breakaway early in the third period, as St. Lawrence shut out its fifth opponent of the season.

Kate Spooner made 28 saves for the Dutchwomen, who fell to 2-12-0, 0-6-0.

The Saints go on the road to New Haven, Conn., to face Yale on Friday in the first of four road games in five days before taking a break for Thanksgiving.
