The St. Lawrence University women's crew, nationally-ranked No. 12, concluded two days of competition at the New York State Championships Sunday at Whitney Point, NY. Both the varsity 8 and second varsity 8 posted fifth place finishes in their respective events.
In the varsity 8 event, the crew of Tori Vossler, Jenette Kloss, Jessica Burdett, Maddy Fones, Maggie Fellows, Sally Dankner, Britton Weber, Alissa McCaffrey and Bri Tidd finished in 6:59.42, just behind No. 13 Hamilton (6:58.59). No. 3 William Smith, Marist and No. 15 Ithaca were the top three finishers.
The second varsity was fifth in its event with a time of 7:17.84, beating out both Rochester and Union. The crew consisted of Amy Yao, Kat Lukens, Amanda Brewer, Jeannine Condon, Liz Weber, Daniella Stokes, Abbie McIvor, Megan McGregor and Helen Aufderheide. William Smith, Hamilton and Ithaca were the top three finishers.
The Saints will be back on the water at the ECAC Championships in Worcester, MA on Friday, May 11.
