The St. Lawrence University women's crew team took two of three events against Union on Sunday on the Mohawk River.  Highlighting the day was the 1V, which came from behind after having a boat-stopping over head crab, but resumed rowing open water down to defeat Union.

The Saints raced the 2000m course in 8:34 while Union came in second at 8:45.  Senior Lauren Reed coxed while classmate Lizzy Stokes-Cawley stroked.  Also powering the eight were juniors Bri Tidd and Jeannine Condon and sophomores Jesse Burdett, Maddy Fones, Britton Weber, Maggie Fellows, Jeannine Condon and Alissa McCaffrey.

The 2V also posted a first place finish with a time of 9:32, handily defeating Union (10:49).  Sophomore Kelly Greenwood coxed the eight while first-year student Alie Mihuta stroked.  Senior Catie LePage, juniors Liz Weber and Amanda Brewer, sophomores Liz Weber and Sally Danker, and first-year students Alyssa Goley, Anna Lavanger and Kait Murphy also raced for the Saints.

The varisty 4+ came in second on a short 1500m course with a time of 8:14, while Union finished first at 7:55.  First-year student Tori Vossler coxed while senior Maggie Wiener stroked.  First-years Abbie McIvor and Jenette Kloss and senior Britne Tyler also raced in the four.

Due to unsafe racing conditions on Saturday at Hamilton, four events were canceled after the men's varsity eight. The men's second varsity eight, women's varsity eight, women's second varsity eight and women's varsity four races were not held.

The Saints will host the Liberty League Championships this Saturday, April 23 in Waddington, NY.
