First-year Dylan Watkiss led the St. Lawrence University women's basketball team with a season-high 13 points, but the Ithaca Bombers topped the Saints 76-41 in Liberty League play on Friday night in Ithaca, New York.
Second to Watkiss, Annabella Pugliese and Ava McCann each scored five points.
The Bombers claimed an early lead after the first 10 minutes of play, edging the Saints 16-9.
The Scarlet and Brown rallied within five points to open the second quarter of play, but Ithaca returned its lead to the double digits with a layup from Grace Cannon with 5:40 to play in the half.
The Bombers outscored the Saints 37-21 in the second half to claim the win.
"It was a disappointing effort today," said head coach Dan Roiger. "We practiced so well this week to prepare for this game and then did not transfer it to the game. We literally practiced twice as hard as we played tonight, and that wasn't expected and resulted in a lopsided game."
Cassidy O'Malley led the Bombers with 14 points, eight rebounds, three blocks and five assists. Megan Yawman added 10 points, while Meghan Mazzella grabbed four rebounds.
The Saints fell to 6-7 on the season and 3-3 in conference play, while Ithaca improved to 10-3 and 5-1.
The Saints will take on Union in Schenectady, New York at 2 p.m. tomorrow afternoon.
