The St. Lawrence University women's basketball team opened the game on a 13-0 run and never looked back, clinching the outright 2011-12 Liberty League regular season title with a 77-37 victory over RIT on Saturday afternoon. The win is the Saints' 14th in a row, as the team improves to 17-4 and 13-0 in the league.

"I love the unselfish basketball that our team is playing right now," said St. Lawrence head coach Dan Roiger. "We had 42 assists on 59 baskets this weekend. We are moving the ball quickly and precisely, and that leads to good shots and a high shooting percentage. Our defense was outstanding again today, and I like the effort and intensity we are bringing. The girls coming off the bench are doing a great job, which allows us to stay fresh and play hard for all 40 minutes. It was a solid weekend against two good teams."

Three reached double-figures in the complete team effort, as the St. Lawrence bench put up 45 points. First-year student Maddy Wetterhahn led the way with 12 points and five rebounds. Classmate Kara McDuffee added 11 points, five assists, two blocks and two steals, while senior Iris Santoni chipped in 10 points. Senior co-captains Katie Edgerton and Casey Capello, and first-year student Adriana Spicer combined for 24 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Erica Spera had a team-high six rebounds.

St. Lawrence will take on Bard College on Friday, February 10 in the Burkman Gymnasium.
