Saints women swimmers dominate Clarkson, 128-48

The St. Lawrence University women's swimming and diving team handily defeated rival Clarkson University on Friday night by the score of 128-48 in the Augsbury Natatorium. The Saints dominated the majority of the meet to improve to 2-1 on the season.

The relay team of Natalie Dellinger, Elizabeth Canne, Heather Foley and Nicole Leinders earned a first place victory in the 400 yard medley (4:19.74), while the team of Courtney Goodrich, Julia Carson, Katharina Weidhausser and Jane Moreau finished second in 4:27.58.

In the 50 yard free, Alanna Blackburn finished in first place with a time of 25.44. Becca Raab and Jane Moreau followed with times of 26.59 and 27.60, respectively. Caitlin Wiederecht recorded a time of 12:09.40 in the 1000 yard free for a first place finish.

Leinders won the 200 yard free in 2:07.23, while Kathryn Whittum and Gabriella Marchetti followed in second (2:08.81) and third place (2:09.28), respectively.

In the 200 yard IM, Olivia Rettstatt edged teammate Julia Carson for the first place finish with a time of 2:21.32. Carson clocked in at 2:21.68, while Heather Foley was third at 2:26.82.

The Saints had another close race in the 100 fly, with Katharina Weidhausser earning the win with a time of 1:02.64. Natalie Dellinger followed at 1:02.89, while Alanna Blackburn was third, clocking in at 1:04.33.

Courtney Goodrich earned a first place finish in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.36. Kathryn Whittum and Julie Deguardi followed with times of 1:08.90 and 1:09.75, respectively.

Heather Foley won the 100 free in 59.51 and Jane Moreau earned a second place finish with a time of 1:01.75. Off the boards, Nikki Jewett won the 1 meter dive with a score of 118.00.

The Saints will host RIT tomorrow afternoon at 1pm.
