St. Lawrence University's women's cross country team did not have the kind of day it was hoping for at the 2015 NCAA Division III championships in Wisconsin on Saturday, but with a team which was among the youngest in the field, coach Mike Howard is looking to the future.

"Obviously not the outcome we were aiming for but this is a young team who enjoyed a season full of individual and team success. The ladies certainly come away from this championship with some great experiences which are certain to position us very well for the future," Howard said after his team finished 25th in the championship.

Williams won the team title with 81 points while Geneseo was second with 179 and MIT hird with 182. The Saints finished with 403 points.

Saint sophomore Megan Kellogg, winner of seven straight races and the NCAA Atlantic runner of the year had her first off day of the season. She ran at the front of the field early in the race, but fell back as the day continued and finished 66th overall , scoring 42nd in 22:07.4

Junior Lisa Grohn was the top Saint finisher, 44th in 21:51.8, scoring 28th while sophomore Ashley Leta ran 22:39.3, finishing 146th and scoring 102nd. Caroline Driscoll led the Saint rookie contingent in 23:17.5 and was 237th, scoring 181st with Elina Breton 245th in 23:22.1, scoring 189th. Anna Breton was the sixth Saint finisher, 256th overall in 23:36.7 while Sarah Moon finished 279t in 24:39.1.

"I am very proud of how this group performed throughout the season and although slightly off her game today, Megan's season will go down as one of the greatest in the history of our program. I'm confident she'll be very determined to build upon that as we move forward", Howard said.
