St. Lawrence University's men's soccer team will host the first and second round of the NCAA Division III men's soccer tournament Saturday and Sunday Nov. 13-14 at Sandy MacAllaster Field.
The Saints, 16-2-2 and unbeaten in their last 16 games, will play SUNY IT, 13-5-1, the North Eastern Athletic Conference champions in the first game on Saturday at 11 a.m. Plattsburgh, 13-4-4 and the SUNYAC conference champions, will play Amherst, 11-2-3, an at large selection from the New England Small College Athletic Conference in the second game on Saturday, scheduled for one half hour after the first game.
The winners of Saturday's games will play at 1 p.m. on Sunday on MacAllaster Field for the right to advance to the sectionals.
The Saints are making the 14th NCAA tournament appearance in the history of the program and the 12th under the guidance of coach Bob Durocher. The Saints went 22-0-0 in 1999 and were NCAA Division III champions and hosted the semifinals and finals in 2002. The current record of 16-2-2 matches the best winning percentage in a season for the Saints since the 2003 team went 17-3-0 and were NCAA Northeast Regional finalists.
