St. Lawrence University's riding team had six firsts and a second in the team competition at the Elsa Gunnison Appleton Riding Hall of Saturday, completing a sweep of weekend home Intercollegiate Horse Show Association shows and adding to a sizeable lead in the race for regional high point team.

The Saints finished with 47 points, and that total, coupled with Saturday's perfect score of 49, boosted the Saints lead to 43 points over second place Cazenovia with just two February shows to go. The Saints have won the last three regional high point titles and are back-to-back national champions.

SLU finished Sunday's show with 47 points with Cazenovia second with 38, Guelph third with 35 and Geneseo fourth with 32.

Junior Emily D'Alessandro was high point rider for the second straight day, winning both the open equitation over fences and the open equitation on the flat classes. D'Alessandro now has three high point rider finishes and a reserve high point rider finish in six shows. Sophomore Annie Lufkin won a four rider ride-off for reserve high point rider with a first in intermediate fences and a second in novice flat in Sunday's show.

Other Saint winners in the team point competition Sunday in addition to D'Alessandro in the open events and Lufkin in intermediate fences included Jesse Lewis in intermediate on the flat, Casey Jones in walk-trot and Lillie Smith in novice fences.

Alyssa Bokor won her class of open fences, Sophie Miller was first in novice fences and Emma Sutphen won her class of open on the flat in other Sunday events.

The Saints' next shows will be a back-to-back set at Cazenovia Feb. 22 and at home on Feb. 23.
