St. Lawrence University junior Jack Whelan tied for first with a two-under par round of 69 at the rain-shortened Hamilton College Fall Golf Invitational on Saturday.
Players got three or four holes in on Sunday in the scheduled two-round event at Valley View Golf Course in Utica before continuing rains made the course unplayable. NYU took the team title with a first round total of 295 while the Saints and Hamilton tied for second at 296 in an eight-team field.
Joining Whelan as the Saint scorers were Jake Danforth who shot 72 and tied for third, Brady Garrett with a 75 for a tie for 14th and Jack Reardon who shot 80 and tied for 36th. Brandon Lustig was the fifth Saint golfer and shot 84 to tie for 43rd.
The Saints completed the fall portion of their schedule with the Hamilton tournament.
