After Oswego took a 2-1 lead with a tight 25-23 win in the third set, the Saints settled down and cruised to a 25-14 win in the fourth and finished off the match with a 15-9 tiebreaker win. Against Potsdam, St. Lawrence swept the match winning by set scores of 27-25, 25-18 and 25-23.

"Our victory over Oswego was our best win of the year as they are a very talented team that plays good defense and puts a great block at the net and I felt like we did a very good job of playing intelligent volleyball," said Head Coach Shelly Roiger. "The Potsdam victory was not our prettiest of the season but I thought we showed mental toughness and closed out our sets."

Against Oswego, Masha Kolesnikova had 11 kills, four blocks and 12 digs to lead the Saints. Three additional players recorded double-digit kills as Lexi Brown had 16 while Grace Kelly and Cristina Deschaine each added 10. Sophomore Katie Kull handed out 45 assists and in the process eclipsed the 1,000-assist mark for her career. Marisa Turner served six aces while Mariah Dignan led the defense with 15 digs, Kull added 12 digs and Rachel Pineda chipped in 10 digs for St. Lawrence.

In the Potsdam match, Kolesnikova led the team with 12 kills and Kelly had another double-digit effort with 10. Kull handed out 41 assists, Dignan recorded 30 digs and Deschaine added nine kills and four blocks.

The Saints play next in the home opener Friday with a match against SUNY Canton at 4 pm before facing Medaille College at 8 pm as part of the two-day Canton Classic Tournament with the second day of competition taking place at SUNY Canton Saturday.

"The team continues to make progress playing together and sustaining focus," said Roiger. "We have a very tough weekend in front of us but I like the challenges that are in front of us as we prepare for another round of Liberty League matches in the near future."
