Saints Visconti, Scott compete in Giant Slalom at NCAA's

St. Lawrence University alpine skiers Allison Visconti and Graham Scott competed in the giant slalom on Wednesday at the 2014 NCAA Championships in Park City, UT. Unfortunately, both skiers recorded DNF's in the event, and will now turn their attention to Friday's slalom races.

The women's race opened the championship, and Visconti got off to a great start in her first NCAA event. The Ridgefield, CT native posted a first run time of 1:01.76, placing her in seventh overall and in contention for a top-10 spot and All-America honors. However, she and three other top-10 skiers did not finish their second run, falling out of contention. Scott, competing at NCAA's for the third consecutive year, did not finish his first run in the men's GS.

"Both Ali and Graham are disappointed with the way today went," said St. Lawrence head coach Willi Steinrotter. "Each of them knows they're talented enough to land a spot on the podium, and that will be the goal again on Friday."

Both Visconti and Graham will compete in the slalom on Friday starting at 11:45 ET.
