The St. Lawrence women's tennis program finished 16th in the Northeast region in the season's final rankings as released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) on Tuesday. Additionally, top doubles pair Elkie Vandenbeemt '15 and Morgan McNeal '16 came in as the No. 15 team in the region.

"Finishing 16th in our region is certainly something to be proud of," Head Coach Greg Kreitzer said. "With the national champion coming out of the east, and 13 teams ahead of us earning national rankings, we compete against great teams. We are looking forward to building on this year's success going forward."

The Saints posted a 15-7 overall record in 2014-15 and finished 5-2 against conference opponents, while Vandenbeemt and McNeal went 15-6 overall and 5-1 in conference matches. The duo was 8-2 in their final ten matches of the season.

"Elkie and Morgan were terrific for us," Kreitzer said. "They came in to college with limited doubles experience, and left as a formidable duo. We are fortunate to still have Morgan to help our other players continue to play solid doubles."

Through their three seasons as a tandem, Vandenbeemt and McNeal combined for a 33-12 overall record and only lost once in dual matches with Liberty League opponents (9-1). Both were All-Conference selections in singles and doubles play this season.

Kreitzer returns McNeal and six others for the Saints for 2015-16: Alexandra Bennett, Georgia Comber, Bridget Fleming, Lia Petersen, Emily Wyman and Hallie Young.
