The St. Lawrence University men's basketball team hit 13 three pointers, the most since November of 2009, in an impressive 78-65 win over Vassar College in Canton, NY on Saturday afternoon. The Saints, who had 10 threes in the first half, had five players in double-figures including Kyle Edwards' team-high 18 points.

St. Lawrence improves to 13-9 overall and 7-6 in Liberty League play, while Vassar falls to 6-15 (2-10). The home team shot 54% (25-of-46) from the field including nearly 60% from behind the arc (13-of-22). Captain Brady Condlin was 5-of-6 from the floor for 17 points, while Kaleb Faison added 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Vassar was led by Jesse Browne's 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, while Luke Ladan added 10 points and a team-best six rebounds.

The Brewers came out of the gate on fire, rattling off a quick 9-2 run to open the game. Leondre Simmon would held steady the Saints with a lay-up, and after Condlin knocked down a three, Simmon earned a steal that led to an uncontested dunk for Faison to tie the score at 9-9.

Though the two teams battled through the midway point of the half tied at 18-18, St. Lawrence began to use the triple to steadily pull away before halftime. Edwards hits two threes, followed by two from Faison for a 32-23 advantage. Willie Zachery's two threes and another from Condlin helped stretch the cushion to 47-33 at halftime. Browne did his best to keep Vassar in contention with 13 points in the period, matching Condlin's total in the opening 20:00 minutes.

Despite seeing the lead grow to 18, Vassar made a run thanks to a three from Tony Caletti and a lay-up by Ladan to get back to within 11 at 59-48 with 11:26 to play. However, Edwards delivered back-to-back daggers from behind the arc, pushing the lead back to 17 points midway through the period. The Saints would grow the advantage to as many as 21 before head coach Chris Downs emptied his bench with 5:00 minutes left en route to the thorough 78-65 win.

Riley Naclerio added 11 points and five rebounds off the bench, while Zachery also recorded 10 points. Simmon continued his strong play, as he had five rebounds, five assists and two steals while playing outstanding defense. The home team also closed with a 34-23 advantage in rebounds.

St. Lawrence, which remains in the hunt for the final spot in the conference tournament, will head to Saratoga Springs, NY next Tuesday, February 10 to face Skidmore College (12-7, 9-2) at 8:00pm.
