Saint's Trevor Bibb will run in NCAA 10,000 on home track

St. Lawrence University senior Trevor Bibb is one of four Saints who will have the opportunity to contend for national championships on their home track when the 2015 NCAA Division III Track and Field Championships get underway Thursday at the Merrick-Pinkard Track and Field Complex on the SLU campus.

Bibb will represent the men's track and field program in the NCAA Championships, running in the 10,000 meters.

Divya Biswal, who has earned All America in eight consecutive NCAA championship competitions, will compete in the 100 hurdles, long jump and triple jump. She will be joined by junior Marisa Turner, who qualified in the high jump and first-year Megan Kellogg, who met the qualifying standards in both the 1500 meters and the 5000 meters, but will compete only in the 5000.

A total of 22 competitors will compete in each of 20 events for women plus 16 relay teams in each the 4x100 and 4x400 while 20 men will compete in 20 events with the same relay contingents in the meet which will begin Thursday. The first events on Thursday include the women's discus at 10:30 as well as the men's and women's multi-events with the men's decathlon starting with the 100 meter dash at noon and the women's heptathlon starting with the 100 hurdles at 1 p.m. Other Thursday events include finals in the men's and women's pole vault, men's discus and the men's and women's long jump. Preliminaries will be run in the 4x100 relays, 1500 meters, 400 meter hurdles, 200 meters and 3000 meter steeplechase with finals in the women's 10,000 and men's 10,000 and prelims in the 4x400 relays to finish off the day.

Biswal will be the first Saint to compete in the 5:30 p.m. long jump competition while Bibb will run at 7 p.m. in the 10,000.

Friday competition begins with the conclusion of the multi-events at noon and the men's hammer also at noon. The women's hammer will be contested at 3 p.m. while preliminaries in the 100 meter hurdles for women are slated for 5:15 with the men's 110 hurdles to follow at 5:30. Preliminaries in the 400 meters, 100 meters and 800 meters will also be run on Friday. Biswal will be the only Saint competitor in action on Friday, running in the 100 hurdle prelim at 5:15.

The meet concludes on Saturday with a full slate of finals which include men's and women's shot put, men's and women's triple jump, men's and women's javelin and men's and women's high jump for field events. Men's shot, triple jump and javelin all start at 11:30 along with the women's high jump which will include Turner for the Saints. Biswal will compete in the triple jump at 2:30.

The women's 3000 meter steeplechase will be the first event on the track at 12:30 with finals in the 4x100 relay, 1500 meters, 100 and 110 hurdles, 400, 100, 800 and 400 hurdles, 200 and 5000 to follow before the meet concludes with the 4x400 relays for both women and men.

Kellogg will run her first NCAA race at 4:05 p.m. in the 5000 meter run.

Tickets for the championship are available as single session or all-session tickets and will be available at the gate on Thursday. Single session tickets for seniors, children 5 and older and students with ID are available for $5.00 each while adult tickets are $8.00 and all session tickets covering all three days of competition are available for $12 for seniors, children 5 and older and students with ID and for $20 for adults.
