St. Lawrence University senior Trevor Bibb finished 15th in the 2015 NCAA Division III men's 10,000 meter championship Thursday evening, moving up one spot from his seed position for the championship race.
Bibb was the first Saint qualifier for the outdoor championship since current graduate assistant coach Jake Fredericks ran in the 110 hurdles in 2013. He is also the second in his family to run in an NCAA championship event on Merrick-Pinkard track as his sister Alissa ran the 400 intermediate hurdles in the 2003 championship.
He ran in the middle of the 20-runner pack for much of the race but slipped back as what had been a tight pack opened up with 10 laps to go in the 25-lap race. Bibb finished in 31:58.22.
The race was won by Wisconsin-Platteville sophomore Ian LaMere who out-kicked Bijan Mazaheri of Williams in the final 100 meters and won by .007, finishing in 30:45.151 with Mazaheri second in 30:45.158.
