Khifer O'Connor and Bryan Palermo each went three for five and five Saint pitchers combined on a five-hitter as St. Lawrence University's baseball team improved to 12-4 with a 6-2 win over Oswego in a non-league game at Oswego on Wednesday.
Starter Matt Dell'Olio earned the win with three innings of work, allowing two runs while Chris Kellog went two innings, striking out two and allowing one hit, Andrew Weitzel went two innings with one hit and Paul Piatelli and Kyle Donaldson each pitched a scoreless inning striking out one each.
O'Connor hit a run-scoring single in the top of the first to give the Saints the early lead, and after Oswego took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the second, O'Connor tied the game with a run scoring double in the top of the third and scored the eventual game-winning run on a wild pitch.
Palermo singled to lead off the seventh inning and O'Connor moved him along with a single with Matt DeLuca and Mark Syron hitting sacrifice flies in to make it a 5-2 game and Brian Brenan scored in the top of the eighth on a passed ball for the 6-2 win.
The Saints, now 12-4 overall, will host Union in back-to-back Liberty League doubleheaders at Tom Fay Field Saturday and Sunday.
