Senior co-captain Ralph Temgoua recorded his 1,000th career point on Friday night as the St. Lawrence men's basketball team (2-3) suffered an 89-80 loss to Ithaca College (2-5). The Paris, France native became the 24th men's player to reach the milestone in the history of the program.
Temgoua led four Saints in double-figures with a team-high 22 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. Senior Garrett Sharlow added 16 points, while classmate Terry Parham contributed 14 points and sophomore Al Jones added 11.
Ithaca, which used 11 three-pointers to take a 43-35 halftime lead, took its largest lead of the game, 59-42, at 16:42 in the second half. The Saints were able to cut the deficit to 68-60 on back-to-back jumpers by Sharlow around the 8:00 minute mark, however that was the closest they would come as the Bombers were able to hold on for the 89-80 win.
St. Lawrence will look to snap its three-game losing skid tomorrow against Elmira. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00pm.
