The St. Lawrence University swimming and diving teams completed day two of competition at the UNYSCSA Championships. The women's team, which sits in eighth place with 259 points, set two new marks in the program's record book today.

Casey Abribat, Elizabeth Canne, Natalie Dellinger and Samantha Moffitt earned a seventh place finish in the 400 medley relay and set a new University record with their time of 4:04.77. Following in 22nd place was the relay team of Brynn Hagen, Zinnia Smith, Maria Anselmi and Molly Lunn in 4:14.17.

In the 200 free relay, Moffitt, Dellinger, Canne and Hagen finished 11th with a time of 1:43.08, while Anselmi, Lunn, Molly Sneden and Zinnia Smith were 24th with a time of 1:47.06.

Abribat continued to lead the Saints with a 10th place finish in the 400 IM (4:42.68), while Anselmi and Lunn were 16th (4:56.11) and 20th (4:53.93), respectively. In the 100 fly, Dellinger was 12th (1:00.46), closely followed by Moffitt in 13th place (1:00.86). Chasity Barcomb also posted a strong performance with her seventh place finish off the 1 meter boards (352.20).

The men's team is currently in 13th place after the second day of competition. Michael Murray, Lane Heed, Tad Deatly and Kirby Kaylor earned 13th place in the 200 free relay (1:37.53) to lead the Saints. Kaylor also joined Andrew Hayes, Jason Dutra and Russ Newton in the 400 medley relay to place 12th with a time of 3:44.00.

In individual events, Russ Newton finished 15th in the 400 IM (4:22.63), Dutra was 17th in the 100 fly (52.92) and Andrew Hayes was 19th in the 200 free (1:45.08).

The Saints will compete in day three of competition tomorrow morning in the preliminaries.

Earlier in the day...

The Saints saw eight individuals and six relay teams advance to finals. Abribat, who broke her own record in the 200 IM yesterday, broke another University record. Leading off the 400 medley relay, she went 1:00.65 to set the new 100 back mark.

Abribat was joined by Canne, Dellinger and Moffitt to finish eighth in prelims to qualify with a time of 4:06.32. Hagen, Smith, Anselmi and Lunn also qualified for the 400 medley relay final with a time of 4:13.39.

In the 200 free relay, Moffitt, Dellinger, Canne and Hagen qualified with a time of 1:43.26, as well as Anselmi, Lunn, Sneden and Caroline Winslow (1:46.63).

Abribat also finished well in the 400 IM with her 10th place prelim (4:43.70), while Anselmi and Lunn were 15th (4:52.50) and 22nd (4:56.61), respectively. In the 100 fly, Moffit was 12th (1:00.70) and Dellinger was 14th (1:01.67).

On the men's side, Murray, Heed, Deatly and Kaylor qualified in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:37.87, while Hayes, Kaylor, Dutra and Newton qualified in the 400 medley relay with their time of 3:44.30.

In individual events, Newton was 15th in the 400 IM (4:19.46), Dutra was 17th in the 100 fly (53.45) and Hayes was 18th in the 200 free (1:45.92).
