St. Lawrence University's baseball team received another brilliant pitching performance from Joe Riley in a 6-1 game one win over the University of Rochester and completed the sweep of the Yellowjackets with a 7-6 win in game two in the Liberty League openers for both teams in Rochester on Friday.

SLU is now 6-4 on the year and 2-0 in league play heading into a second doubleheader at Rochester on Saturday. UR is 2-8 and 0-2.

Riley improved to 3-0 with one earned run allowed and 24 strikeouts with just one walk in 21 innings after a two-hitter in game one.

The Saints scored two in the first on an outfield error on Chris Conlon's fly ball, got a double from Bryan Palermo, a single by Devon Robson and a two-run triple by Chris Fernandez in the third and added an unearned run on Conlon's single, a wild pitch and an error in the fourth.

Rochester got one run on an outfield error and a ground out in the fourth, but the Saints scored when Khifer O'Connor reached on a fielder's choice, advanced on Brian Magovney's single and scored on Robson's single in the top of the sixth.

Mike Dell'Olio saved Kevin Prindle's win in game two as he struck out four and allowed just one run in three innings of relief.

The Saints jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first in game two on an error, Robson's sacrifice fly and an outfield error. Rochester tied it on an inside the park homer by Brandon Heinrich, but the Saints went back in front on a single by Zane Fish and Mic Regan's run scoring single.

Fish and Regan had run-scoring singles in the top of the seventh to give the Saints a 7-3 lead and while Rochester closed to within a run, the Saints were able to hang on for the win.

Regan was three for three and Fish and Robson had two hits each in game two for the Saints.
