St. Lawrence University's women's cross country team swept the Liberty League awards in that sport for the ninth time since 2004 in voting by the league's coaches.
Cassia Hameline was named the Liberty League Runner of the Year, Megan Kellogg was the Rookie of the Year and Mike Howard and assistant coach Kate Curran were named the Coaching Staff of the Year after the Saints swept the New York State Collegiate Track Conference, Liberty League and NCAA Atlantic Regional championships and went on to finish third in the NCAA Championships.
Hameline, a senior who ran cross country for the first time this season, was named Liberty League Runner of the Week seven times in eight starts this past season, while Kellogg, the top rookie finisher in the NCAA meet and the first first-year All America in program history was named the league's top rookie in seven out of eight starts.
Hameline was NYSCTC and Liberty League individual champion and finished second in the Atlantic Regional and eighth in the NCAA Championship while Kellogg was the top rookie in the same four championship races.
The Saint coaching staff earned staff of the year honors for the 12th straight year. Howard has earned the honor in each of the last seven years and was also NCAA Atlantic Region coach of the year.
Five Saints earned All Liberty League honors based on finish in the Liberty League championship. Hameline and Kellogg were joined by Lisa Grohn, Anne Martino and Ashley Leta as all league selections. Grohn and Martino joined Hameline and Kellogg as All Americas at the NCAA Championship, the first time in program history the Saints have had four All Americas in the same season.
