
The St. Lawrence University women's tennis team won its first dual match of the season with a 9-0 sweep of Plattsburgh State at the Sammis tennis courts on Saturday.
Highlighting the matchup were a couple come-from-behind victories by two Saint teams. Sophomores Liz Geer and Shannon Murphy battled back from a 6-1 deficit against Amy Rich and Samantha Fasciano to claim the 8-6 win in the #2 position.
Senior Paige Cohen and sophomore Justine Rusk fell behind 4-1 against Jen Paull and Caitlin Belladone, but were also able to fight back and gain the victory in the #3 position.
The Saints will travel to Cortland State Wednesday, October 6th to take on the Red Dragons in a dual match. The game is slated to begin at 3:00pm.
