The St. Lawrence University volleyball team earned another split in the second day of the RIT Tournament in Rochester, NY on Saturday. The Saints won the first match against Geneseo State by the score of 3-1 (26-24, 25-18, 16-25, 25-15), but, despite winning the first set of the nightcap, fell to St. John Fisher by the score of 3-1 (16-25, 25-18, 27-25, 25-21).
The Saints finished 2-2 at the tournament, and hold an 8-6 overall record.
Senior co-captain Nyasha Miller led the Saints with 27 kills and 40 digs on the day. Fellow classmate and co-captain Marta Johann recorded 20 kills, while senior Liz Grogan added 18 kills. First-year student Jenna Street dished out 65 assists. Senior Katherine Pierce tallied 30 digs over the two matches.
St. Lawrence will play host to rival Clarkson University on Tuesday night. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM.
