Junior Marge Terhune and first-year Katie Clemmer scored their first collegiate goals, while Katie Stames and Megan Gannon each added two apiece to lead the St. Lawrence women's soccer team to a 6-0 win over Salve Regina on Saturday afternoon. Gannon also added an assist, as did Terhune, and Kaleigh White recorded two assists in the win.

Gannon's first of the day served as the game winner, as she put the Saints on the board in the 32nd minute off a lofted pass over the defense and into the box by Terhune, and it was all St. Lawrence from then on. The Saints finished with a 44-2 overall shot advantage, including 23 shots in the second half, and held an 18-2 edge in shots on goal.

"Although we started a bit slow with tired legs from yesterday, it was nice to see our stamina remained high throughout the game," head coach Franco Bari '98 said.

With the Saints leading 1-0, Clemmer tallied her first goal for the Scarlet and Brown off a feed from Gannon in the 35th minute and sent the Saints into halftime with a 2-0 lead.

In the second half, White set up Stames for two straight goals to push the lead to 4-0 in the 64th minute. Two minutes later, Terhune blasted a shot from 30 yards out into the far upper 90.

Gannon's second of the day in the 86th minute gave the Saints their final 6-0 margin of victory.

"I was very pleased with our performance and energy in the second half," Bari added. "We learned a lot about ourselves this weekend and will now focus on preparing for Potsdam."

Goalkeeper Samantha Allen made two saves en route to her first career shutout, while Salve keepers Morgan McBrier and Carly Pala combined for 12 saves.

White, Stames and defender Samantha Taillon were named to the North Country Classic All-Tournament team.

With the win the Saints split the weekend and improve to 1-1-0 on the year, while Salve drops to 0-2-0 with the loss.
