St. Lawrence University senior Kara McDuffee has been named a 2014-15 Pre-season All-America by D3hoops.com.

McDuffee earned Honorable Mention status alongside four seniors, Kimberly Scamman (Claremont-Mudd-Scripps), Katelyn Kuehl (UW-Oshkosh), Jordan Kimes (Ohio Northern) and Kristen Schulz (Wisconsin Lutheran).

This is a great honor for Kara and one that is well-deserved. She came in as a well-decorated high school player but has worked very hard in the weight room, on conditioning and on her skills to make herself a great college player too," said St. Lawrence head coach Dan Roiger. "She has also become a leader and is respected by her teammates because of her tremendous work ethic. Not only can Kara play every position, but she can play every position at an elite level, and there might not be a player in the country that plays harder than Kara."

McDuffee was a first team All-Liberty League selection last season and led the Scarlet and Brown to the conference's regular season title. She averaged a double-double last season with 14.0 points and 10.1 rebounds per game, while also having a career-high 88 assists.

The Saints women's basketball team gets its 2014-15 campaign underway this weekend out west in the Colorado College Tournament. St. Lawrence will face Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday, November 15 at 7:00pm (EST) before taking on the host school on Sunday at 8:00pm (EST).
