Allison Scarf finished sixth and Teresa Grigg was seventh in the 2014 New York State Collegiate Track Conference heptathlon championships held at RIT on Sunday and Monday.
The Saint duo scored five points toward the team total for next weekend's NYSCTC Championships which will be held at St. John Fisher. Scarf finished with 3572 points while Grigg totaled 3432 points. With four of the seven events completed, Scarf was tied for fourth with 2286 points while Teresa Grigg was seventh with 2126.
Scarf was fourth in the hurdles for 635 points and third in the high jump at 1.45 meters for 566 points. She threw the shot 9.82 meters to win that portion of the competition and earn 518 points and ran the 200 in 28.82 for 567 points.
Grigg's best day one event was the 200 in which her 28.42 earned 598 points. She ran 17.54 in the hurdles for 537 points, jumped 1.42 in the high jump for 534 points and threw the shot 8.89 meters for 457 points.
Scarf earned 431 points with a 4.51 meter long jump, threw the javelin 24.49 meters for 373 points and ran the 800 in 2:48.21 for 482 points on Monday. Grigg high jumped 4.55 meters for 441 points, threw the javelin 19.45 meters for 279 and was third in the 800 in 2:38.83 for 586 points.
Hailey Burkhart of RIT won the competition with 4100 points.
