St. Lawrence University's riding team ran its season-opening win streak to three shows on Saturday, but had to settle for second place on Sunday.
The Saints stretched their regional point lead to 14 with Saturday's win, finishing with 45 points with Cazenovia second with 42 and Geneseo third with 34 at Geneseo, but Cazenovia trimmed eight points off the margin on Sunday, winning with 41 points while the Saints and Syracuse tied for second with 33 at Cazenovia.
The Saints have a weekend off before hosting back-to-back home shows on Nov. 15-16.
Emily D'Alessandro earned her second straight high point rider honors in Saturday's show with teammate Lauren Nolan finishing as reserve high point rider. D'Alessandro was second in open over fences and won in open on the flat while Nolan was first in intermediate fences and finished second in novice on the flat.
Jesse Fortier won in open fences on Saturday while Naomi Feguine won in novice fences. Jaime Tempesta, Sheila Murray and Lauryn Tannenhaus won in novice on the flat while Ali Hiple and Julia Robinson were winners in walk-trot-canter and Manon Edeline won in walk-trot.
Mackenzie Alderman was second and Kaleigh Galvin took a third in intermediate on the flat, and Anna Haron and Grace Segrave took seconds in novice on the flat on Saturday.
Fortier and Alyssa Bokor won their classes of open fences with D'Alessandro adding a third place finish on Sunday while Morgan Oakes was first in novice on the flat, Hiple was first in advanced walk-trot-canter, Amelia Heroux first in beginner walk-trot-canter and Edeline again won in walk-trot.
Sarah Buck was second in intermediate on the flat and Siv Saati was second in walk-trot in Sunday's show.
