The St. Lawrence University Nordic ski teams competed in the classic races at the 2014 Williams Carnival at Prospect Mountain on Saturday. Senior Eric Lustgarten finished in 19th place overall to lead the Saints, earning his eighth career top-20 finish.

Lustgarten raced the men's 10k classic in 31:05.7 to earn 25.0 points. Austin Meng followed in 24th position, while Will Frielinghaus was 27th for his best finish of the season to cap the scoring. The trio was awarded 65.0 points, good for eighth place in the standings.

Phillip Marshall recorded a new career-best finish in 39th place, while Kyle Curry (41st) and Matt Dier (57th) also represented St. Lawrence.

Junior Kate Mulcahy was the top finisher for the Scarlet and Brown in the women's 5k classic, closing in 33rd place with a time of 18:00.6. She was joined by teammates Erin Perryman and Taren McGray, who were 36th and 61st respectively, as St. Lawrence was 10th in the team event.

The University of Vermont, led by individual champion Anja Gruber, claimed the women's classic race while Patrick Caldwell's victory in the men's race led his Dartmouth Big Green squad to the team win.

The Williams Carnival is the final regular season event of the season, as St. Lawrence will compete next weekend in the 2014 EISA Championships at Middlebury on February 21 and 22.
