Saints Nordic skier Garso posts 19th-place finish at Dartmouth

Jackie Garso posted her fourth-best result of the season with a 19th-place finish in the women's 10-kilometer freestyle to lead the St. Lawrence University Nordic Ski Team on day two of the Dartmouth College Carnival at Oak Hill in Hanover, New Hampshire on Saturday.

Garso completed the course in 15 minutes and 21.6 seconds to earn 24 points for the Saints and 13 NCAA points, bringing her season total to 48 NCAA points. Hochschartner placed 26th to bring home 17 points and seven NCAA points, while Kate Andy finished 43rd for eight points.

On the men's side, Timothy Cunningham led the Saints once again with a 42nd-place finish in 10-kilometer freestyle with a time of 28:25.1. Cunningham earned 11 points for the Saints, while Goerge Jarvinen and George-Henry Werowinski combined for six points.

The women took home eighth place, while the men finished 13th in their respective freestyles. Combined with scores from the Alpine Ski team, St. Lawrence wrapped up the weekend in ninth place with 285 points. Dartmouth, the University of Vermont and Middlebury took home the top-three spots on the weekend.

The Saints will travel to the Prospect Ski Center in Woodford, Vermont for the Williams College Carnival on February 16-17.
