Saint's men's track members Sloan, Smolensky take 2nds at Albany Last Chance meet

Sophomore Harrison Sloan and junior Scott Smolensky each had second place finishes on the for the highlight performances for the St. Lawrence University men's outdoor track and field team at the Purple and Gold Last Chance meet at the University at Albany on Saturday.

Sloan ran 3:57.44 and finished second in the 1500 meters while Smolensky ran 15:27.37 in the 5000 meters for the top Saint finishes.

Shawn Lillie finished ninth in the 100 meters with a 11.50 in the finals after running 11.49 in the prelims and was sixth in the long jump with a 6.23 meter throw. Scott Kasson was eighth in the shot at 13.70 meters and 10th in the discus at 38.19 and J.T. Martel threw the javelin 46.74 meters and finished 11th.

The Saints will run in the ECAC Championship at RPI Thursday and Friday.
