St. Lawrence University's men's track and field team is among three tied for sixth after day one of the 2014 New York State Collegiate Track and Field Conference Outdoor Championships being held at St. John Fisher College.
The Saints, who went into Friday competition with seven points from the decathlon which was conducted Sunday and Monday, scored in the javelin on Friday as J.T. Martel was fifth with a throw of 50.92 meters and in the 4x800 relay where the team of Corey Hahnl, Albert Scardera, Dan Driscoll and Adam Bankert finished sixth in 8:18.01.
SLU also advanced athletes to Saturday finals as Omaru Kabia advanced in the 100 meters with a 11.46 time and Shawn Lillie also moved to the finals with a 11.68 finals and in the 400 hurdles where Daniel Visconti moved ot the final with a 58.87 clocking.
