Senior John Megas and sophomore Marco Amendola both posted straight set shutout victories in singles play at No. 3 and No. 6, respectively, to help the St. Lawrence men's tennis team to a 9-0 sweep of Saint Michael's on Sunday afternoon.
With the win the Saints improve to 2-0 in dual matches this season, having swept their opening weekend, while the Purple Knights open their season with the loss.
The doubles teams of Robert Schmitz and Elliot Solandt (8-2), Megas and Dean Sponholz (8-4) and Tom Luchars and Paul Barrett (8-4) helped the Saints open up a 3-0 lead to start the match.
Each singles match was won in straight sets for the Saints, with Sponholz winning a tiebreak in the second set of his match at No. 2 against the Purple Knights Charlie Merry for a 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) win.
