The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team suffered a two-match set back this weekend as it dropped a tough 6-3 decision to Rensselaer on Friday evening then lost to nationally-ranked #25 Skidmore 8-1 on Saturday. The Saints move to 6-4 on the season.

The highlight of St. Lawrence's competition on Saturday was a first doubles victory from Michael Hayden and Paul Barrett. The duo defeated Skidmore's regionally-ranked #14 pair of Oliver Loutsenko and Danny Knight, 9-8 (4), finishing the weekend 2-0.

In Friday's match, RPI took a 2-1 lead after earning two tight wins at one and three doubles. Jarrett Regier and Brandon Mazzara topped John Megas and Rob Schmitz at one, 9-8 (5), while Andre Vorbrodt and Graham Harris beat Thomas Luchars and Rhonny Rosario at three, 9-7. Barrett and Hayden earned a victory at two over Will Dickie and Sherman Uyeno, 8-3.

In singles play, St. Lawrence's Megas and Rosario earned two hard fought wins at two and three, respectively, but it was not enough as the Engineers won four singles matches. Megas beat Mazzara, 6-4, 6-7 (4), 10-6 and Rosario beat Dickie, 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.
