The St. Lawrence University men's tennis team improved to 8-4 on the season with a 9-0 sweep of Bard on Saturday in the Newell Field House. The Saints, who have won two straight, will host Union tomorrow morning at 9:00am.

St. Lawrence took a quick 3-0 lead after doubles play, earning 8-0 sweeps in the second and third spots. Thomas Luchars and Tom Timpone beat Erik Wallulis and Dan Krakovski at three, while John Megas and Rhonny Rosario defeated Isaac Lertola and Philip Poznansky at two. Michael Hayden and Paul Barrett topped Alexandre Khondji and Ted Laport, 8-3, at one.

In singles play, Megas earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Poznansky at two before Hayden clinched the victory for the Saints with a 6-1, 6-2 at one.

Matt Burke followed with a win at five over Lertola, 6-0, 6-2, and then Paul Barrett defeated Wallulis at four, 6-1, 6-2.

Rosario edged Laport in the first set before putting him away at three, 7-5, 6-1, and Alan Shortz rounded out the Saints' scoring at six with sweep of Krakovski, 6-0, 6-0.
