Two members of the the St. Lawrence men's diving team kicked off competition this evening at 7 p.m. in the 2014 NCAA Division III Northeast-North Diving Regionals at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.
Having not had divers compete at a regional qualifier since the 1986 season, first-year students Alex Blake and James Wilczewski got the Saints off to a strong start in the 1-meter competition. Blake placed 12th out of 19 divers with a total score of 405.5pts while Wilczewski placed 14th out of 19 divers with a total score of 395.15pts.
The Saints resume competition on the 3-meter board Saturday at 12pm. Results at the meet determine the NCAA National Championship participants.
