Saints men's squash team wins 9-0 at Colby, 7-2 at Bates

St. Lawrence University's men's squash team finished its three game tour of Maine with three wins as the Saints beat Colby 9-0 on Saturday and prevailed 7-2 at Bates on Sunday..

The Saints, now 4-1 on the season, play at Middlebury on Tuesday before hosting Yale on Saturday in their first home match of the season.

At Colby, the Saints won eight of the nine matches in straight games with Ness Billimoria the only SLU player needing an extra game to prevail. Billimoria, playing at nine, came from a game down against Matthew Epstein to win 8-11, 11-4, 11-4, 11-3.

In Sunday's match at Bates, the Bobcats won at one and two as defending national individual champion Ahmed Abdel Khalek edged Moustafa Bayoumy 3-2 and Ahmed Hatata beat Ahmed Bayoumy 3-2 at two, but the Saints swept the rest of the mtaches for the overall team win.

At Colby, Amr Khalifa beat Will McBrian 11-4, 11-9, 11-7 at one, Moustafa Bayoumy was a 11-9, 11-8, 11-1 winner over Elliot Gross of Colby at two, Ahmed Bayoumy turned back Ben Kwass with three straight 11-4 wins and Lenard Puski beat CJ Smith 11-4, 12-10, 11-2 at four.

Lockie Munro was a 11-5, 11-5, 11-2 winner over Patrick McCarty at five, Hussein Elrayes beat Yuga Koda 11-2, 11-8, 11-4 at six, George Willis was a 11-7, 11-5, 11-3 winner over Hugh Doherty at seven and Tim Lasusa beat Andrew Swapp, 11-5, 11-4, 11-2 at eight.

Khalek and Moustafa Bayoumy are familiar rivals from club squash in Egypt and Khalek edged the elder Bayoumy brother 11-3, 7-11, 11-6, 7-11, 11-8 at one. Hatata beat Ahmed Bayoumy 11-8, 11-9, 6-11, 8-11, 11-9 at two at the top of the lineup in the Bates match.

Puski improved to 5-0 on the season with a 14-12,11-3, 11-4 win over Darrius Campbell at three, Munro was a 11-4, 11-9, 11-5 winner over Anirudh Nambiar at four, Elrayes defeated Caran Arora 11-9, 11-6, 11-7 at five and Willis is 3-0 in his SlU career after a 11-8, 11-3, 11-3 win over Coley Cannon at six. Lasusa went 3-0 for the weekend with a 11-6, 11-4, 11-5 win over McLeod Abbott at seven wile Billimoria was also unbeaten on the trip as he beat Carlos Ames 11-13, 11-6, 12-10, 11-9 at eight. Julian Jervis won for the Saints at nine with a 11-7, 8-11, 11-1, 11-6 win over John Cannon at nine.
