The No. 10 ranked St. Lawrence University men's squash team dropped two close matches at the Dartmouth Fall Classic, being edged by host #8 Dartmouth, 5-4, on Friday night before falling to #7 Franklin & Marshall by the score of 6-3 on Saturday.
The Saints, who are now 3-3 after losing three straight matches, were led by sophomores Chris Fernandez and Duncan Maxwell, who won both of their matches on the weekend at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively.
The match against Dartmouth came down to the wire as Chris Hanson closed out the night with a 3-0 win over sophomore Ibrahim Khan at the No. 1 spot to seal the win for the Big Green.
Sophomores Sebastian Riedelsheimer and junior Vir Seth earned victories at No. 3 and 4, while Fernandez and Maxwell beat their opponents at No. 7 and 8.
In Saturday's match, the Diplomats received wins at the top four sports in the lineup and No. 6 and No. 9 to earn the 6-3 victory. Junior Will Campo picked up a win at No. 5 for the Saints, while Fernandez and Maxwell won at No. 7 and 8, respectively.
The Saints have concluded their 2012 portion of this season and will be back in action after the holiday break at Cornell on Jan. 12.
