The topsy-turvy world of the top ten in men's collegiate squash took another turn on Monday when sixth ranked St. Lawrence bounced back from a 6-3 loss to Yale on Saturday with a 5-4 win at fourth ranked Harvard on Monday.
The Saints, now 6-2 on the season, will host 12th ranked Cornell on Saturday while Harvard is 2-2 on the season.
The Saints won the top four matches in the lineup including a key 3-2 win by Moustafa Bayoumy at two in a battle with Bradley Smith. Ness Billimoria also had a key 3-2 win for the Saints as he edged Jack Cooper, coming from 2-1 down to win.
Moustafa Bayoumy won game one at two 11-6, but fell behind Smith who won games two and three by 11-9 and 11-3 scores. Bayoumy then squared the match with a 11-8 win in game four and won it 12-10 in game five.
Amr Khalifa was a 11-4, 11-3, 11-5 winner over David Ryan at one and Ahmed Bayoumy beat Bryan Koh 13-11, 13-11, 6-11, 11-6 at three. Freshman Lenard Puski was a 11-6, 7-11, 11-4, 11-8 winner over Dylan Murray to complete the Saint sweep of the top four matches.
Billimoria won game one 11-5 in his match with Cooper, but Cooper won games two and three 11-5, 11-8 before Billimoria won game four 11-5 and closed it out with a 11-9 fifth game win.
Harvard's Devin McLaughlin edged Goerge Willis 11-3, 12-10, 11-7 at five, Alexi Gosset got past the Saints Hussein Elrayes in four, 9-11, 11-6, 11-5, 11-9 at six and Seif Abou El Einen beat Tim Lasusa 11-5, 11-9, 11-5 at seven. Mandela Patrick of Harvard was a 3-2 winner over Julian Jervis, winning 1-11, 11-6, 11-4, 6-11,11-3 and Matt Roberts beat Kingsley Amoako 11-7, 11-3, 11-0 in the exhibition match at ten.
