St. Lawrence University junior keeper Aaron Costello and senior Andrew Bednarsky were named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) 2013 Upstate Defensive and Offensive Players of the Year, respectively.

Costello anchored the men's soccer team's defense, which finished second in the nation in goals against average (.44). He led the nation in goals against average (.319), and set a University single-season record with 16 shutouts, which also topped all of Division III. Costello allowed seven goals in 22 games, earning Liberty League Defensive Player of the Year honors and All-East Region Second Team.

Meanwhile, Bednarsky captained the Saints this fall en route to the Liberty League regular season and tournament titles. He finished with 26 points (9g,8a) in his final collegiate season including five game-winning tallies. Bednarsky, who was the Liberty League Tournament MVP after scoring the game-winning goal in the finals, was a unanimous choice as the conference's Player of the Year and was All-East Region First Team.

Hobart's Charlie Kelly was named the 2013 ECAC Upstate Rookie of the Year. The voting was completed by coaches within ECAC Division III Upstate men's soccer.
