Senior Ryan Crouse scored the game-winning goal in the 75th minute to lift the St. Lawrence University men's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Hobart College capturing the Liberty League regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament on Saturday afternoon at Sandy MacAllaster Field.

With the win, the Saints improved to 11-2-2 on the season and 7-1-1 in conference play, while Hobart fell to 7-7-2 and 5-3-1.

Crouse slipped one past Statesmen goalkeeper Alec Kaminer for the 2-1 lead and the win at 74:55 in the second half. Senior captain Brendan McNamee assisted a wide-open Crouse on the play with a stellar pass just above eight year box.

In the first half, Robert Reynolds put the Saints on the board with his first collegiate goal in the 36th minute after picking up Kaminer's rebound in front of Hobart's goal giving the Saints an early 1-0 advantage.

Just over five minutes later, Kyle Patrick capitalized on a tipped pass from Pete Critchlow to even the score, 1-1.

"We're so happy for the team today," said head coach Mike Toshack. "To win the league regular season title was an effort throughout the season that every single player on the roster participated in. I think when you saw the winning goal being scored and the players celebrating with their team on the sideline it's indicative of the full team effort throughout the year and the respect they have for each other. It was another great win against a well-coached Liberty League team, we're excited to enter the post season and host the championship weekend."

Saints' goalkeeper Mike Smith recorded three saves in today's win, while Kaminer finished with four.

The Scarlet and Brown held a 19-7 shot advantage and edged the Statesmen 6-4 in shots on goal.

Today's game served as senior day for the Saints' Class of 2019, which includes captain's Stephen Dorney, Jethro Dede, Brendan McNamee and fellow classmates Mike Smith, Tapshak Augustine, Charlton Kelly, Ryan Crouse and Iyayi Imade.

St. Lawrence received a first-round by in the Liberty League tournament with the win and will await the results of Tuesday's first-round games to see who they will face in Saturday's semifinals.
