The St. Lawrence University men's novice eight continued its strong spring and led the rowing team with a win over crews from the University of Rochester and Union on Saturday afternoon in a four-team regatta hosted by Hamilton College at the Erie Canal in Rome, New York.
The novice eight bested Rochester by 22 seconds and had a 44-second margin of victory over the boat from Union.
The men's varsity four was second to a boat from Hamilton, while the novice four boat was beaten by Rochester, but edged Hamilton by four tenths to finish second.
This was the final race day before the Liberty League and New York State Championship the first weekend in May.
