The St. Lawrence University Men's Lacrosse Team has won each of its first two games in the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament and will host a game in the third round as well as the Saints take on Amherst College at 4 pm Wednesday on North Country Field at Hall-Leet Stadium. Tickets will be available for sale at the main entrance to the stadium for $5 for adults and $3 for students, senior citizens and children.

The Saints (17-2) tied the school record for wins in a season with a 12-9 victory over Springfield College Saturday afternoon and Amherst (14-4) advanced with a 17-14 win over RIT.

St. Lawrence and Amherst are two of the eight teams remaining in the tournament and the winner will take on the winner of Ithaca and Tufts on Sunday afternoon. In the Southern half of the bracket, Gettysburg takes on York (PA) at 4 pm Wednesday and Salisbury hosts Denison at 7 pm Wednesday. The winner of those two games will also play Sunday for a chance to advance to the Championship Game at 1 pm Sunday, May 29 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA.

The Saints are 4-2 in the all-time head-to-head series with Amherst and have won each of the last three meetings with the most recent being a 16-9 victory in 2007.

St. Lawrence is making its 11th NCAA Division III Tournament appearance (which began in 1980) and has already doubled its all-time NCAA Tournament wins total. The team entered the 2016 tournament with an overall 2-10 record in NCAA games and advanced to the second round in the tournament in 2006 and again in 2009. This is the first appearance in the third round since the 1979 team, in the NCAA Division II-III Tournament lost in the semifinals to the eventual National Champion Adelphi after defeating Hobart and Ohio Wesleyan.
